Carbon cranksets could be all of the rage, but the ones of us searching for a certain aesthetic, or certain stiffness, are still inclined to seem to well-made, machined aluminum cranks to finish our builds. The Rotor 3D Plus Road Crankarms are the top of alloy crank construction. They are Trinity drilled, like so much Rotor cranks, which relieves excess Subject material without compromising strength or stiffness within the process -like a much-safer drillium. The result’s very similar to a box-truss bridge, and is as stiff as you’d expect a Rotor crank to be. The 3D Plus Road also uses a 30mm spindle, but way to Rotor’s work at the bottom bracket front, it’s going to fit the whole thing from traditional, 28mm threaded bottom brackets to BB Right, to BB30, so it doesn’t matter what roughly bike you might be riding, you’ll be able to ride Rotor cranks. Moreover, the 3D Plus are designed to just accept any roughly rings, including Rotor’s ovalized Q-Rings. You can make a choice from 110mm and 130mm BCD, but in the event you change your mind down the street, the alloy spider may also be swapped somewhat easily for the opposite size. This also makes it play somewhat nicely with spider-based powermeters, like the SRM or Quarq.
